For the cloth diaper HATERS out there! Don’t worry we still love you! Or those who just need initial information>

*    What about the poop?! Ew!!!
For 100% breast fed babies you don’t even have to clean it off (I do anyway) but its water soluble so no big deal. There are diapers sprayers, anyone can attach it to the toilet tank and you use it to spray off the solid waste into the toilet . I personally use diaper liners. They are biodegradable, and flushable. The pee goes right through them and it catches the solid waste, Take it off the diaper, flush and, throw the diaper into the pail! Ta Da!! You can use cloth wipes, or I buy flushable wipes at Target.

*      What if the diaper gets stained? Aw man!
A crazy widely known secret to cloth diapering parents is to dry them in sunlight! Not kidding it works awesome! The rays of the sun kill bacteria, naturally bleaches, and if sunned outside the fresh air makes them smell so good. In winter I put mine on a drying rack by our sliding glass door with the shades open and it works just as good except allow for a little more drying time. Pre-rinsing or using a wet pail helps to.

*     Ok I don’t want to deal with the smell! (nose pinch)
When you wash your diapers properly, like with cloth safe detergent (easily found everywhere!)  they barely should stink.  Personally I found out when I had used disposables in the past they stunk more than my cloth. Wet bags are waterproof and hold in any smell until laundry day. Another option is to do a wet pail {link to wet/dry pail page}.

*    Won’t my baby get a rash from them?
It’s a very good question that gets asked a lot by mom’s and dad’s. I made the switch to cloth because, no matter what disposable I put on my son he always got a horrid rash. His rashes are non-existent after a few goofs that were easily fixed. Oops hehe! If you do see a rash occur you may need to change your wash routine{link to how to wash page}, be sure you change them every 2-3 hours, or in the event of detergent build up strip them{link to how to strip article} Another solution is to add some more soakers to the diaper or change what soakers you are using, it’s possible your baby is a heavy wetter. Don’t worry though!! Easily fixed just ask me!  Better than buying 20 different types of boxed diapers trust me I went there lots of wasted time and money!

*     Aren’t they bulky? How do you buy clothes for them!?
With today’s style diapers it easy to find a cloth diaper that fits nice and trim, even if your baby is a heavy wetter. You can use combinations of different types of cloth soakers to add absorbency without adding bulk. My heavy wetter used one microfiber insert, and one hemp or bamboo insert. {link to absorbency issue’s page}Worked awesome!

*     Ok I don’t much care for the extra laundry!
Typically when I do the diaper laundry it’s paired with other stuff my boys have made a disaster of!              : ) Like the messy clothes from breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or the bedding from my oldest boys overnight accident. If we are running low on underwear my husband and mine typically get thrown in too. So when you think about it it’s not extra work. I couldn't stand to throw those pee pee sheets into the laundry basket because, it made their bedroom stink. Now I’m not wasting water on just a couple blankets. For those of us who have used disposables they tend to leak a lot and that means sheets, blankets, the outfit, and the baby needs a bath! Ugh!
